Meeting the “New Beginning for Syria” platform of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)

As part of an introductory meeting between Wiederaufbaukanäle Syriens e. V. and the “New Beginning for Syria” platform of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the discussion focused on exchanging perspectives on current challenges and exploring potential pathways for cooperation.

The aim was to ensure transparency regarding structures, working approaches, and mutual expectations—and to identify areas where collaboration could deliver clear, practical added value through stronger coordination, clarified responsibilities, and more effective support.

Following a brief round of introductions, the meeting covered the platform’s goals, support formats, and possible criteria for future cooperation. The discussion then moved to key practical hurdles, including organizational procedures, coordination and alignment processes, clear roles and responsibilities, and efficient communication channels.
