Syria Rebuild Team Visits Damascus University Innovation and Development Expo 2025

The Syria Rebuild team visited Damascus University to attend the 2025 Innovation and Development Expo, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and communication with educational and research institutions across the country.

During the visit, the team met with several prominent figures in higher education and scientific research to introduce the Syria Rebuild initiative, present its work, and establish connections with stakeholders in vocational training, skills development, and capacity building.

The team met with:

• Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Khaled, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Affairs

• Dr. Ghaith Warqouza, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs

• Dr. Mustafa Saem Al-Dahr, President of Damascus University

• Dr. Ahed Abu Younes, Vice President of Damascus University for Academic Affairs

• Dr. Ahmed Burhan, Vice President of Damascus University for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies

• Dr. Muhleb Al-Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

• Dr. Jihad Abu Nassar, Director of the Office of Patents and Innovation

These meetings highlighted the importance of collaboration between national initiatives and universities and research centers, contributing to the development of skills, promotion of innovation, and supporting the reconstruction process on scientific and strategic foundations.
